The Alchemist head office can be found in Handforth, Cheshire. A fast-growing community connecting Cheshire to Greater Manchester with a main street of popular shops and easy access to Manchester Airport. Boasting great transport links, by train you can be in the city centre of Manchester in 25 minutes or drive to neighbouring Wilmslow in 5.

With 23 locations across the UK and Europe, we're excited to be seeking a dynamic Regional Operations Manager to lead, mentor and support the General Managers and their management teams in the pursuit of excellence, in each of their venues across The Alchemist estate. The broad nature of the role requires you to be across all elements of success in a venue; including teams, guests and operations, with a view to driving sales and profitability in each site. In general, you will be present in venues throughout the course of your working week as you collaborate with the operations team, and the local site teams to deliver optimum performance. You will also work with wider company functions; such as the finance, property and people teams to maintain and manage the estate.

The role will cover a wide range of areas, including driving excellence in service and environment, people, food & drink and P&L.

At The Alchemist we pride ourselves on operating high tempo, occasion lead venues with a focus on both food and drink, where customer activity is at its peak in the evenings and at weekends. To succeed in the role, you will need to organise your working week to optimise your impact in venues and on management teams - blending communication and presence as appropriate during the trading day

Requirements for the role:

  • 3 years minimum General Management experience, leading teams in busy wet led environments and driving business growth. Multi-site experience is a plus.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Standards, and Licensing requirements.
  • Ability to deliver financial KPIs including P&L and EBITDA
  • Ability to maintain strategic sucession and retention plans 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • A collaborative and supportive approach to driving business growth
  • Able and happy to travel to venues across the UK, including overnight stays - we believe the best Operations Managers are present with their teams.
  • Driving Licence preferable.
